Querqueville, Amfreville.

Drive from Querqueville over the coast road towards La Rivere where you can see the battery laying on top of the hill at your left. The battery is not easy to enter, but via the road Rue des Vignieres you can give it a try.

The Germans built this battery around an already existing French fortification on this location with a nice lookout over the sea and the harbour of Cherbourg. The bunker of type M271 is very rare and there are about 28 pieces built in the hole Atlanticwall.

Querqueville, Rue Amfreville.

When you are finished with M.K.B. York, you have to follow the road, Rue des Vignieres, and when you pass the village in the direction of La Rue d' Ozouville, the road is called Rue d'Amfreville. About 800meter after you left the village you can find this location on the left side in the meadow and under some trees.

Querqueville, Rue du Port.

Drive from Querqueville city to the harbour facility beside the military location at the old French Fort Querqueville.
At the small harbour with mainly small private fishing boats and so, you find a few small objects.

When you have finished at the harbour site, you have to turn around and take a look at the Fort Querqueville. From here you can see some objects that could be German additions to the fort.

From here you can make a walk over the pier towards the end (2x20min). Beside the pier at the land side you see a fortification on an old French fort island. The Germans built several buildings on this location too.

Querqueville, harbour pier.

From here you can make a walk over the pier towards the end (2x20min). When you start the walk you see at the land side of the pier the remains of an Allied port element, that they built after the liberation of Cherbourg. Lots of harbour facilities where damaged by the Germans or by shelling, therefore the Allies had develop artificial harbour elements and equipment so they could start quickly after the battle using the harbour.
At the end of the pier there are also some objects, probably French and German
